KHORAKHANE'
Khorakhanè came together in 2001 as a tribute band to Fabrizio de Andrè (the most famous Italian singer-songwriter of all times) and also developed their own original songs. Their sound comes from a mix of different styles, which over the years became strongly personal, but above all, their creative forces comprised within this sextet allowed them to compose a specific kind of music. Folk, singer-songwriter music and the contemporary of rock music together very much represents the "creative source" of the group. They pay extra attention to the lyrics, searching for the most direct messages, even though there were social protests, they found the right mixture which describes "the world of the song" according to Khorakhanè.
In 2007 Khorakhanè performed at the 57th Festival of Sanremo and got the second place in the critic's award between “young artists”. Following this participation, they have been awarded the prize "La Stampa 2007" (national newspaper of Torino) in September 2007 as representing the best group of 2007. In November 2007 in Faenza they received the premium MEI from the Meeting of independent Italian Music for best Indie-Pop group of 2007.
The Khorakhanè did several concerts all over Italy, as well as in some other countries, as in Switzerland and in Poland in 2005, in Sweden, in Egypt (organized by the Office for the Promotion of Italian Culture Abroad in Cairo) and in Germany, at the International Music Fair POPKOMM in Berlin in 2008."
Their single “5 monete d'oro” has been released in June 2009, anticipating the album , written by Massimo Bubola (also known as co-author of many De Andrè songs)
